<p>First of all, choose a quiet room in which to do your session. Make sure that you wear loose clothes and sit in a comfortable chair.</p>
<p>Next, tack to your wall a picture of a spiral or concentric features just a few feet away from you. As you look at the picture, tell yourself, &#8220;I am going deeper and deeper into a trance.&#8221; You can also add instructions such as &#8220;My eyelids are getting heavier and heavier. My eyes are closing as I go deeper and deeper into a trance.&#8221; Repeat these statements or variations of them.</p>
<p>The next step is to lull yourself completely into a trance by counting backward from 10 to 1. At the same time, tell yourself repeatedly that you are relaxed in both mind and body.</p>

<p>Once you are in a trance state, you start feeding your subconscious with the scripts that you have devised. Add a post hypnotic suggestion that &#8220;It will now be easier and faster for me to go into a self hypnosis trance.&#8221;</p>
<p>When you are ready to get out of your trance, gradually wake up by counting backwards again from 10 to 1.</p>
